George I of Great Britain

George I was George Louis of Great Britain he was the first Hanoverian king of Great Britain and also the king of Ireland.  He was the king from 1714 till his death.  He was also famous as the prince of elector of the Holy Roman Empire and Brunswick lune berg he was born on 28th may 1660 he was the first king of Great Britain who belonged to Hanover Germany and was also born there in Germany.  

He was also the eldest son of Sophia of Hanover.  He had the well known family status his grandmother was the sister of Charles I of England and his grand father was James I of England.  He was known at that time with the name of duke George of Brunswick Lunenburg and because of his family and their great status and the honor of his father as the elector in Germany.  In the year 1682 George got married with his first cousin she was the princess Sophia of celle princess was the only daughter of his fathers eldest brother this was because of securing the incomes as in the salic laws that requires the male inheritance there wedding was succeeded and after that they had two children's George and Sophia dorothea however that wedding was become worse after the birth of children's George had the relations with some other mistresses and have three illegitimate children's as well.

At the other side Sophia was also involved with the count Philip Christopher and very famous with large number of scandals made about her.  Due to these reasons George also made attempt to kill Sophia’s friend count Philip and he succeeded he was killed in July 1694 George made attempt t to kill the count by providing money to four of his courtiers.  After the death of count George and Sophia’s relations were so worsen and the marriage dissolved after wards.  George put Sophia in prison and was stopped to meet her children’s and her father.  The powers as the king came transmitted to George after the death of Ernst Augustus in 1698.  On January 23 1698 George was placed at the duke of Brunswick and afterwards more status was given to him.  George was cruel in the view of many researchers in relations with others.  

There were many war took place during the rule of George in which the war of Spanish succession is famous.  During these wars George had his great support for England however the English parliament was in the support of Sophia Georges mother was electress Sophia who was died before the queen Anne of great Britain however after the 17097 union act of Britain George was selected as the king of great Britain after the death of Anne in 1714 George was in the great support of Whigs ideas during these days George also put claim that the throne was from his mother.  George I spent much of his time in England but with his presence in England he was also interested in visit to his home town Hanover and when ever he visited to Hanover the all powers of king was in the hands of his son George Prince of Wales.
