Booths Death

In the morning of April 26 booth was arrested by the soldiers from the tobacco barn which was owned by Richard garrett and David Harold who surrendered. He was then tried to the tree by the soldiers and the forces wanted the acceptation of booth for surrender but he refused to surrender. After his rejection to surrender he was shot dead by the soldiers fire on the neck. Booth was in the paralyzed condition because the bullets damaged his spinal cord. At the time of death he was staring at his hands and spoken the words

After the death the body was taken to the Washington navy yard for identification at that time his cousin who was also an actor and was called Blanche Chapman identified his body and was buried in the old penitentiary. In 1869 the body was given to the booth family after the second identification made and he was buried at the unknown place in greenmount cemetery in Baltimore.
